This explains what we do with your personal data when you visit or buy from thepaddledog.nl. We are the controller of that data under the GDPR.

What we collect, and why

We do not sell your data. We do not buy data about you.

Who else sees it

We use other companies to run the shop. Each only gets what it needs.

Where a company processes data outside the EU, that transfer runs on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice data: seven years. Dutch tax law requires this and we have no choice.
Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe.
Analytics data: 14 months, the Google Analytics default.
Emails you send us: two years after the conversation ends.

Cookies

We set cookies that are needed to make the shop work, such as remembering your basket. These do not need your permission.

We only set analytics and marketing cookies if you accept them in the banner. You can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

show you the data we hold about you
correct it if it is wrong
delete it, unless we are legally required to keep it
send it to you or another company in a portable format
stop using it for a particular purpose
stop sending you marketing, at any time, with no reason needed

Email info@thepaddledog.nl. We answer within one month.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). We would rather you told us first.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS. Payment data goes straight to the payment provider and never touches our systems. Access to customer data is limited to the people who need it to send you your order.
